Who We Are
3-A Equipment is a small, mechanic-owned shop serving Giddings and the surrounding communities with honest equipment rentals, dependable repairs, and the kind of service you can only get from someone who’s actually turned the wrenches.
My name is Matt Hankins, and I started this company after years of keeping Central Texas equipment running for everyone from welders and contractors to farmers, ranchers, and folks tackling their first big project. I built 3-A Equipment so I could do the work the right way — thorough, honest, and hands-on — every single time.
When you rent from us or trust us with your repairs, you’re dealing directly with the person who services the machines, hauls the machines, and stands behind them when they’re out on your job.
What We Believe
Equipment shouldn’t be a headache. It shouldn’t stall out halfway through a job or leave you guessing whether that strange noise is “nothing” or “shut it down immediately.”
Our approach is simple:
- Do the maintenance right.
- Check everything twice.
- Catch the little problems before they become big ones.
- Be there when things do go wrong.
We follow every manufacturer’s recommended PM checklist, plus a long list of items we’ve learned to watch over years in the field. When you see a 3-A sticker on your machine, it means the small stuff has already been handled.
Life’s busy enough. Your equipment shouldn’t add to the pile.
Our Work in the Community

You’ll find us out at local BBQ events, training alongside the Giddings Fire Department, and helping out neighbors when equipment trouble hits at the worst possible time.

A Year in, and Just Getting Started
In September 2025, we celebrated our first full year in business. It’s been an incredible ride — more repairs than we can count, more equipment added to the fleet, and more customers who took a chance on a brand-new shop.
